We have had fun decorating pumpkin and there are so many ways to make them look amazing. Have a look at some of our pictures below and then, as I’m sure you can do better, upload yours to our Facebook page. We have a £20 Amazon voucher for the one we like best, which we will be giving out after Halloween.
If you do need any tips, then the best way to paint your pumpkin would be to clean it with soap and water and leave it to dry properly. If you want your pumpkin to last longer then apply a sealant before you start decorating it. Acrylic paint works best on a pumpkin but with younger children just go with poster paint. You can get loads of free stencils and ideas online so just get creative. If you don’t fancy painting then you could try gluing on glitter, sequins or maybe even ribbons for a really glamorous pumpkin. We’ve even tried melting wax crayons over them and dipping them in nail varnish.
If you prefer carving yours, then we have pumpkin carving sets and battery operated tealights for sale. To keep your carved pumpkin or squash looking good for longer, keep it cool, bring it inside if it is pouring with rain and rub petroleum jelly or Vaseline on the cut edges.
